LESSON TITLE: Gutenberg Unbound Report

3. Demonstrate effective input of text and data, using touch keyboarding with proper technique.
5. Create documents with advanced text-formatting and graphics using word processing.
FOCUS DISCUSSION: Discuss with students that Johannes
Gutenberg and his moveable type printing press revolutionized the world of
publishing in the 15th Century just like the invention of personal
computers and desktop publishing technology has done in the past
20 years.
OBJECTIVES: After completing this lesson SWBAT format a report that would be presentable to a high school teacher
PRE-REQUISITE KNOWLEDGE: Knowledge of Microsoft Word and a Keyboarding rate of 20 WPM
MATERIALS:
• Keyboarding Information Packet
• Gutenberg Biography Manuscript
DESCRIPTION OF LESSON:
Teacher Will:
• Lead the students in the focus discussion.
• Review the Keyboarding Information Packet with the students.
• Circulate the computer lab making sure the students are on task and helping students.
Students Will:
• Participate in the focus discussion.
• Review the Keyboard Information Packet with the teacher.
• Typeset the Gutenberg Report.
• Print the report and make corrections using proofreading marks.
• Make corrections.
• Print a final copy and hand it in for grading.
ASSESSMENT: The students will be graded according to the guidelines below.
• Maximum grade is 100.
• 3 point deduction for every spelling/grammar error.
• 5 point deduction for every formatting error.
