I Am An Explorer!

Think about the explorers you learned about in social studies class. Now imagine that you are one of those explorers. Your assignment is to make a journal pretending to be the an explorer of your choice. You will write five journal entries including facts you have learned about as well as anecdotes to make your entries realistic. Don’t forget to include dates! When you have finished writing, you will create a cover for your journal. You want your journal to look authentic. You may use tea bags to stain the paper, burn the edges of the paper, etc. You will have one week in class to work on the writing assignment. Work with your parents to create your cover at home.
