2014\/2015* Tenyo Magic Tricks<\/h4>\n

*In previous years, the year attributed to Tenyo tricks on Tenyo’s official website were from the year when the trick was released in the Fall. But in 2014, Tenyo started listing the tricks according to the upcoming year. They also started adding stickers with the upcoming year. There are no tricks listed from 2014 because of this.<\/p>\n

This is a preliminary posting of information for the 2014\/15 Tenyo Magic Tricks. Of course it is very early, and the tricks are not even officially released yet, but I wanted to get some information posted for those that are interested. Overall, I like these tricks much, much better than last years tricks. Last years tricks I looked at to see what they were and never touched them again. The 2014\/15 tricks has sparked my imagination to come up with different handlings and add-ons.  So far Magic Butterfly is my favorite. Make sure to check out the Ideas Gallery<\/a> at the bottom of the page for preliminary ideas on performing these tricks.  <\/em><\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

The prices are higher than last year but not by too much. Also, for the first time, Tenyo will be providing English instructions that can be retrieved from their website with a password.<\/a> The online instructions will not be available until the end of October. Special thanks to Hitomi of Magico-Japan on Ebay<\/a> for sending me her translated instructions so I can properly review the tricks. <\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

The tricks by Lubor Fiedler and Ali Bong may have been packaged in the World’s Greatest Magic packaging in previous years, but this year that is not the case. I am not sure if that is because the World’s Greatest Magic is no longer, or because the tricks were revised\/improved. <\/em><\/span><\/p>\n

Description<\/h3>\n

Primary Presentation \u2013 The magician show a transparent green plastic sleeve with a “Magician’s Club” credit card inside. Both the sleeve and the credit card have a hole punched in one side that line up. A pad lock secures the two items together.  The magician opens the lock with a key and removes it. The magician then shows that the credit card can slide freely back and forth in the sleeve. An audience member tries and can also slide the credit card back and forth in the sleeve as well. The magician takes the lock and closes it next to the sleeve with the credit card in it. Now the audience member is asked to try to slide the card in and out like before, but they cannot make it budge. The magician then takes the sleeve and card and waves the keys over it. He then shows that he can slide the credit card back and forth again.<\/p>\n

Alternate Presentation \u2014 The magician show a transparent green plastic sleeve with a “Magician’s Club” credit card inside. Both the sleeve and the credit card have a hole punched in one side. The magician shows that the credit card can slide freely back and forth in the sleeve. The magician then takes a pad lock and secures the credit card inside the sleeve. Even though the two items are locked together, the magician can remove the credit card from the sleeve even though the lock is still locked. The items can be passed out for inspection.<\/p>\n

Comments<\/h3>\n

This trick was created by the late\/great Lubor Fiedler. The concept is so simple, but at the same time diabolical. It reminds me of T-252 Clear Surprise<\/a>, but mostly because they both have transparent plastic envelopes. The second trick requires some sleight of hand that might be too much for some magicians. The handling looks awkard in the videos. I will probably stick with the primary presentation.<\/p>\n
