So I unpacked my 2nd set (I was curious!) and it is silent as well... So the noise issue is a non issue IMHO...

I agree with Rob...
I chose a small vintage padlock for my set (and placed some more in the "key box"). I plan to use an outer plexi box to isolate the chest even more prior to the "revelation". Great addition to the collection!
