Kirk, your link doesn't work for me? But perhaps it is the video where the cigarette is marked at the middle piece in the second part of the routine?
Thanks David! And the video he posted is of the two colored pencils where the middle gets switched around.
VictorS wrote:Very2 cool Madison....as always ;) Somehow I still have no idea how you did it. Very happy to be fooled again :) :)
How kind. Thank you very much! :) I'm glad you enjoyed it.
David DeTenyo wrote:Wow, after rewatching the trick I now realized you used two different colors  :o ! Very nice indeed, and baffling too!
Hehe ;) thank you for noticing! Haha I'm glad it was baffling.

David,

I'm not sure why the link doesn't work. Try copying the URL directly into YouTube.
The presentation is just as puzzling as the one with the two different colored crayons. It is not the one where you mark the middle piece.

Madison, I was really surprised that this color changing effect was also possible! Like David I was baffled too!
Or is this an advanced version of this classic trick?
By the way this rip-off looks fantastic!
Anyway I enjoyed it very much!

I was surprised as well. Never realized you could do that with this effect. I think I figured it out eventualy but kudos to you for coming up with this great variation.

Madison, you are a "sneak" sir.

I had to watch it about 5 times before I fully understood the handling.

Bravo, brilliant, and bold!

Great video again Madison! I liked the story ... an expensive pen switched for a cheap plastic one, and a box with a crappy lid where the pen is not safe! :D
And the trick is done very smooth, even 2 times!

hehe thank you for the compliment on the routine and smoothness.

The technique with the silk definitely takes some practice to learn how to make it work properly every time.

I heartily agree with Roberto! Although maybe one little comment: you sometimes speak a bit too fast, I had to watch it 2 times to fully understand you. I am of course not a native US speaker :)

I believe subtitles would be a great addiction, although I don't think you will do that :)

Good point! I'll slow down next time.

I'll look into subtitles. Closes Caption on YouTube may be a good idea to turn on if struggling until I figure it out. :)

Wow Madison, that was really great! So many 'optical illusions', I was dazzled myself too!

Again, great combination of storyline and the effect!

It's like you take the dust of all those old effects!

Very enjoyable to watch...

Wonderfully smooth Madison!

This is one of those very cool Tenyo effects which I cannot seem to work smoothly.

Could you give me/us tips on how you get the pen to "do it's thang" without "hanging up."
Any comments/tips/observations regarding your handling of "Impossible Pen" might make it possible.

Thanks for the great videos!

Thank you for the kind comment! Of course I can try to give a few pointers!

I've found to get the pen to do its thing effectively, it's super important to lift the outer box quickly. The slower you lift it, the less momentum the pen has. To help hide it, instead of lifting straight up, quickly tilt the box towards the audience. This lifts the back end quickly but keeps the front end relatively low.

If wanting to use the silk version, the best advice I can give you is to be sure you don't center the silk over the box. Instead, put about 2/3 of the silk over the edge of the box closest to you. It's this extra length which is needed to make the pen do its thing effectively. When removing the silk, grab the silk at the center of the box and lift straight up at a steady but quick place.

Hope those tips help!
