Re: Teller's Wins Lawsuit to Protect His Most Prized Trick
In the first place, what a great act by Teller! I had not seen it before.
So it can be tricky to 'steal' a whole act, and that's not ethical.
Maybe that's the reason why all these magicians publish their routines in books and on videos, so that others first must pay to be able to get the secrets and perform it. A win/win situation, actually.
Just my simple comment on this.

I have witnessed this performance in Las Vegas from a first row seat. It was a very dramatic and artistic performance but the trick did not baffle me. I am sure that a number of magicians will figure out how this trick works. The beauty of this trick is in the presentation and not the method. Watching this trick live is really breathtaking.
The trick that baffled me in that show is the Floating Ball. Penn gave the introduction that Teller will do a trick with a piece of string. Then Teller did a solo performance of the floating ball. The effect looks like real magic.
I met Teller after the show. He is a nice person and was very accommodating. If ever I have a chance, I will watch their show again.
