Has anyone heard of Svetnashki?

Recently I purchased a sliding puzzle called Svetnashki. The effect can be seen on this video I made:

Does anybody knows this effect? It reminds me very much of Tenyo's Fantastica.
Would it be possible to make a magic trick out of this by removing the square pieces/background?

More info is to be found at:

It says it uses polarized filters.

Perhaps use it to reveal a card? But that would need the polarized plates to be pieces of a card when all in place reveals a complete card ... not exactly easy if you ask me :)
And it has been done before more or less with Masuda's WOW.

Maybe you're right David, it's difficult to transform this into a magic trick. In the meantime I have a lot of fun playing with it! :-)

you could use the material to make an apparition appear on a b&w photo. this ones my favourite..
(you could also have a ghost holding a force card)

Interesting Rob....first tim I see this puzzle.

I would like to get some of these lens (without breaking my Tenyos) to made one of these cilinders, because I like the penetration illusion:

The old Nintendo eklectronic games used these lenses. My old science teacher opened one up and showed it. There are two see-through plates if aligned criss-cross become black.
Do take in mind 'working' old Nintendo games tend to sell for quite high prices on Ebay ;) Here you can buy some of them: http://www.ebay.com/itm/10-LOTS-OLD-Gam ... 461824c26d
