Year 25 in magic. Month 1 in Tenyo
Hello everyone, I wanted to take a moment and introduce myself. My name is Ron Leshem in case the cleverly titled user name wasn’t clear enough, and I’ve been an avid magician both as a professional, hobbyist and most recently magic creator, since I was 12 years old (25+ years ago).
For the overwhelming majority of that time I’ve been predominantly interested in sleight-of-hand based card magic. In fact, I would go so far as to say that I was almost allergic to gimmicks of any kind. My magic library has grown beyond all reasonable bounds and it has been devoted almost entirely to books and DVDs which focus on technique and routines. So is is a little bit out of left field of that suddenly I’ve developed an intense fascination with Tenyo (or “ten Euro” as google auto-correct understands it). In fact, when I found out that Richard Kaufman was publishing a two volume book on Tenyo, my first thought was who cares?!
Oh how quickly things have changed. For the last month I’ve been literally obsessed with the idea of putting together a micro illusion show and I can’t wait to get my handle on Tenyoism to see how others have risen to the same challenge. I’ll probably be sharing some of my routining ideas for feedback in the coming days as realizing my particular vision will be guiding my purchases moving forward. I’m not even sure how I got bit by this bug but it has become an intoxicating notion and registering on this blog was the next logical step. A
I’m very excited to be joining everyone here and learning from all of you. I will probably be posting a bit in the next few days both because that’s where my head is at form the moment, and also because I really want to get that full membership
If any part of this has resonated with you, feel free to drop me a line and say hello. In fact feel free to do that even if none of this is resonated that strongly with you but you’re simply happy to have another person here.

Welcome to the forum, Ron! Your story is very interesting (especially the recent change from gimmick allergy to near obsession), and I think you will enjoy it in here. We have quite a few magic creators in here, and once you become a full member, you will gain access to many interesting threads, I promise.

Re: Year 25 in magic. Month 1 in Tenyo
I’m from Los Angeles, where I was born and raised. When I was a young child my parents pointed out the magic castle to me once and I thought it looked just like Disney’s Magic Kingdom which piqued my interest. Years later I would have the privilege of becoming a junior member of the castle (where I am still a member) and thus brought at least part of my magic story full circle. Looking forward to closing a few more of those loops in the years to come.Rob Rand wrote:Welcome Ron! Where are you from?

Hi Ron and I'll also official welcome Collin here as well! Great story!, and for me I'm fascinated by the brilliance in design and implementation of gimmicks in many of the tricks here. You'll find it a fascinating place with a great group of people!
