The performer displays a block of wood which has a hole running through its center and a length of rope. The rope is now threaded through the block, which is then locked into an elevated wooden frame while still allowing the ends of the rope to remain in full view. Despite this restrained situation, the performer, without any cover, pulls the block forward until it is completely clear of the frame and unattached from the rope! The block is then tossed into the air while the rope can still be clearly seen through the frame where the block was imprisoned only a moment earlier! It is an incredible illusion.
Houdini Block Escape has been inspired by Jack Hughes’ Cuban Release which is still one of the very best block and rope penetrations in magic.
What elevates this far more than similar effects is that it only uses one rope with no looping or threads involved. The rope can also be immediately removed from the frame at the end of the performance!
The frame stands approximately 13cms high, 15.5cms wide, 6.5cms deep and the block is 6.2cms square. This effect has been completely hand-crafted from genuine teak wood with a lightly distressed oil finish.
Thanks to Tony Curtis who provided the nice illustration below.

This is one of my favorite effects ... I have the large version, and was hoping for a small version made by Magic Wagon .. And here it is!

I like your large version, looks great, do you still have it ?
Yes I still have it...
I like the colors of my large version, made by Rebru, more than the always somewhat boring looking MW teak effects...
But due to lack of space I will sell my large version...

Rob, I had the same feeling with the fade look of some of their all-teak props, especially compared to their resin beautiful looking pieces
This is why I've decided to add a "personal touch" to some particularly "drab" pieces of their teak line. Maybe I would be tempted to do the same with that plain block?

An example...
Good idea Simon! I think painting is no good idea, a sticker can make a great difference!

Asian Hieroglyphs stickers might be an option to ornate the teak block. I just ordered a few sets...
Can't wait to receive my Okito Block Escape!

I'm seriously on the fence about this one ... . There are still some left so I decided to wait for reviews ... . I have a pretty good idea about how this one should work but wonder if all goes fluently/smooth, no sound exposure, easy to do etc ... .

The block of wood looks enormously large in this close-up
I am curious if there is a way to do it noiseless without music
I already like very much what I see in the video, looks amazing

Looks excellent. I know how it works (which I think is very clever) but was in doubt, not anymore. 14 in stead of 15 in stock now
