The Beginning:

         Cougar Chair is the product of many changes. The members of Cougar Chair are from many diverse musical backgrounds and many experiences with other bands. The original band included Martin and Justin. The two had been together in many bands through a year's time from Take No Prisoners, Detrimental Society, and more. Other band members have come and gone, but Martin and his guitar stuck with Justin and his drums through them all.

The Rebirth:

         After many broken bands, they were starting to lose faith. Then guitarist Matt H., bassist Tim, and singer Matt S. joined. They were all hard-working, enthusiastic musicians and the new group showed promise. Tim and Justin were throwing around ideas for the new band name, and thus Cougar Chair was born. After creating, arranging and recording one song, Liars and Cheaters, Matt S. left the band in search of his inner drummer (he was a originally a drummer). The band was sorry to part with him but he was headed in a different direction.

The Present:

         Cougar Chair added singer Paul to the lineup, and now are ready and willing to make music once again. Musical influences on Martin and Justin had always been very diverse, ranging from jazz and blues to rock and metal. The group altogether has a great chemistry and are on the way to finding their own sound.

 

	Martin: Guitar      Martin started the first band together with Justin, shortly after buying his first electric guitar in 2006. They jammed together and as he got into the instrument, he started getting serious about being a musician. He also has the recording equipment of the band and is dedicated to progress and production.
	Justin: Drums      Justin started taking lessons over the summer of 2006 upon buying a practice pad. He later got his first drum set which he still uses and modifies today. He had a connection with the instrument which he continues to live on through his dedication to the band.
	Paul: Vocals      Paul came across as an idea for a replacement for the latest CC singer, Matt. He turned out to be more than just a suitable replacement. Known for singing classic rock anthems, Paul offers his wide range and is dedicated to great music.
	Tim: Bass      Tim's bass playing ability is much like the playing of his idols, such as Billy Sheehan. He's just that good. He came together with Justin who was his friend prior to him joining, and he proved to be a vital addition. His knowledge of music theory is matched by his playing ability.
	Matt: Guitar      Matt looks like a shred head at a glance, and he really can be. He is dedicated to his metal music and soloing, but he also offers some subtler influences to CC's music through his knowledge of theory. He joined the band shortly after Tim, who mentioned Matt to us in the first place.
