Re: T-255 Card Surgery
This is a great effect, but one of those effects I will actually never perform (again). It looks absolutely stunning on camera, and some great ideas with alternating routines have been around and are well worth to try out. When done smooth this is baffling in real life too I'm sure, and someone who puts some effort in practicing will have a great litle illusion.
However ... this is the kind of effect you need to have set up exactly as it should in advance, and to me this set up, while not exactly difficult, is a hassle. Also, the original gimmick makes a noticeable 'CLICK' when 'it' happens. You should be able to cover that up perhaps, I haven't tried it out.
Not one of my favourites. 6/10 because of the very, very clever modus operandi.

I loved the concept of this one and when done properly it looks killer. the problem for me was context, WHY was I producing this odd petrol dish in the middle of dinner? well fortunately john sorted that problem out with the frog add-on. now it becomes a science lesson in reverse! I've performed this version in my school recently as some of my tutees were due to do a dissection and getting nervous. I brought it in to show them. didn't help their nerves one bit but they still loved the trick!
Now you see me...
Re: T-255 Card Surgery
I agree that this looks really great when done smoothly which takes some practice. I like to do this together with Mobile Illusion.
I leave the card surgery on my lap ready to go.
I cut a card in half and restore it with Mobile Illusion. Then cut the same card into quarters and (pretend to) put it on the dish on my lap which I bring out and proceed to restore again.

Re: T-255 Card Surgery
This is one of the most visual and clean restoration of playing card. Still one of the genius invention of Lubor Fiedler. Some weaknesses : It takes a little bit long preparation to setup everything into the exact position and I think the gimmick should be modified for an easy unloading process. But fortunately our Roberto (Magic Patagonia) came to a great and clever solution to substitute the gimmick by using paint brush and magic glue. Really clever Roberto. And I hope your idea will be included into the Tenyoism book

Extremely brilliant solution and presentation Roberto.
I have worked for many hours on my own device and to no avail.
I make and sell and add-on called Frog Experiment that replaces the playing card with a frog card.

I can't remember where, but I mentioned the paintbrush routine recently. I remember when you (Roberto) first posted it. That is one of my favorite Tenyo routines --especially considering that the Lubor tricks (I think) are rather tricky to work with. Excellent piece of work!
Where's my colon?!
Re: T-255 Card Surgery
Roberto, could you share how you made the paintbrush?

I just glued a stronger tiny magnet in between the brush bristles. The bristles makes the work of eliminate any noise.magicjeff wrote:Roberto, could you share how you made the paintbrush?

Roberto has a way of making an effect a million times better!
Today, I went back to his demo of Sugawara's Dice Escape and watched it a few more times. He took what was a somewhat complicated handling and made it so much easier! I hesitated to perform it but now I will after practicing his method today.

It's a Tenyo day in the neighborhood!

Hi everyone, I am entering new day of August 17th 2020 and today is the 75th of Indonesia Independence Day. I hope you enjoy my short story about Indonesia with Tenyo Card Surgery created by the late Lubor Fiedler to celebrate the day.
I always love the smart handling by our Roberto on using paint brush, so I borrow his handling for my presentation. Hope you don`t mind, Rob
Wish us all a great day !
Cheers,
Victor Superanto.

Re: T-255 Card Surgery
That's a nice handling of Lubor Fiedler's Card Surgery Victor ...
And for me, from Holland, a painful reminiscence of what the Dutch did to Indonesia ...
I read the "Max Havelaar" by Multatuli.
And at the moment in the Eppo, a Dutch comic (I have a subscription), there is a great graphic novel of this impressive book where the writer indicts the Dutch for their crimes in Indonesia.

Yes Rob, Indonesia was under Dutch colonialism for 350 years continue with Japan colonialism for 3,5 years before we reach our freedom. However it was a bitter past. It is a history. We are friend now

Really good Victor. As always a nice smooth handling. All your videos are done with a nice slow calm pace. Music you choose is perfect for the performance. Aways a surprise and always have a big smile while watching everytime. Thank you for all your hard work you put into each performance.

Re: T-255 Card Surgery
Thank you guys and thanks to Roberto for the great handling ! I love it
I think it`s better to do the move slowly and smoothly so the spec can see clearly the slow restoration and it looks so magical. Much better than covering by palm and instant restored. So the brush is a perfect solution.
The music/ song is one of our national hymn and it`s very old one and it was re-arranged with our famous composer in Indonesia, so it sounds perfect !
